I was recently contacted by a graphics designer called Jo who runs her own business, Tinker N Co. Jo had designed a logo for a starter charity called Tayen’s Journey. Jo needed some long handled tote bags printed with the logo, which of course, I was happy to provide.
Tayen is a little girl who has just turned 2. At 22 months she was diagnosed with a genetic condition called Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1). She has numerous brain tumours, as well as tumours on both optic nerves, which have recently led to loss of sight. In order to stabilise the tumours, she is undergoing a course of Chemotherapy which is to last just over a year and a half.
Tayen’s parents (Kali and Kevin) set up Tayen’s Journey to raise awareness of NF1, and also so that people could follow Tayen (Tots) on her journey. If you visit their Facebook page, you will see how despite all her treatments, Tayen is adapting well to her loss of sight, and her happy spirit simply shines through. I for one am proud to be associated with Tayen’s journey and wish her and all her family well. x
